Hi Stephen,

I'm so glad I got the chance to see you yesterday after the matinee. You were wonderful in the show. As I knew you would be. :-)

I have to say I was wondering if you would remember me. It's been so long. Well, you didn't disappoint me at all. You are such a great person. I'm honored to know you. All the best with your future projects. Please keep in touch - ok. :-)

Hi Stephen, in case you ever read this, it's Amy, the curly-haired Oklahoma groupie. Just wanted to wish you best of luck in your last week - I'll miss the show like crazy but I'm sure you'll be doing something great next. :)

I agree with all who have written about Stephen's amazing performance in Oklahoma. I am tearfully (!) looking forward to the closing show. I also wish he was on the cast recording. It would be wonderful to have a recording of his glorious voice singing those terrific songs. I really feel that this role is perfectly suited to him and his talents. As always, I wish him much continued success and look forward to hearing about what he'll be doing next.

I've seen Stephen in the show twice now. He is absolutely wonderful as Curley and his chemistry with Patty Duke is excellent!

Best of luck!

Thank goodness there is a site to come to get my Buntrock fix!! Saw him in Oklahoma! He was amazing, hit all the right emotions for me as Curly! And it saddens me to see it close! He is sexy and talented.

I am so upset that Oklahoma will be closing. I think Stephen's work in this show is Wonderful and do hope we will see him in the near future on Broadway. He is so great as Curly.

Hopefully, Stephen will see this, or someone can forward it to him... I worked backstage at Six Flags' Grand Music Hall with Stephen in Stars and Stripes Review and Dancin' in the Streets. As someone mentioned before, he was brilliant in Witchdoctor ;)
At any rate, I wish him continued success and ask that he drop me a line sometime, I'm working on contacting as many of the old gang as I can find.
Regards,
Stephen Fels

I just returned from NYC - I saw Stephen in Oklahoma! yesterday. He was excellent - what a voice.

I previously saw him in Miss Saigon at the Marriott Linconshire in Illinois. My friend Anne, who was in the show, introduced me to him afterwards.

He is such a nice guy offstage too. So friendly and chatty - no ego. He deserves a site about him! Guess I am a fan now!

My husband and I watched Oklahoma! yesterday, Jan 8th 2002, 2pm performance for our 3rd year wedding anniversary and we really enjoyed your performance. You have a beautiful voice and you made the show really enjoyable. I think you carried the show. Thanks and hope to see you in future performances.

Steve is a long time friend from the Chicago area - in fact, I was his soccer coach for several years. My entire family follows his career and have seen him in many performances over the years. We are very proud of Steve and Jamie as well. The site is wonderful. I will make sure my sons (also friends of Steve's) visit as well. My daughter-in-law is a dancer and is moving back to the Chicago area. I am hoping Steve can recommend some contacts for her here.

I saw Stephen perform in Oklahoma! this past Friday night (November 22). The cast was exuberant. It was the most fun I've had at any theater production. I met Stephen after the show at the stage door. He was very friendly. What a voice!

Congratulations to Stephen!
I am a huge Patrick Wilson fan and have been going to Oklahoma several times per week for the past few months. Though I will miss Patrick terribly, I would like to congratulate Stephen - he will make a wonderful replacement. I have seen him play Curly twice, and have loved him as Joe in the ensemble - particularly when the whole gang bursts into Jud's smokehouse and he starts looking at the naked pictures, LOL. At first I thought that after Patrick left I would not go back to Oklahoma anymore, but I will be there tomorrow supporting Stephen in his first official performance as Curly. Again, congratulations to him! His enthusiam really showed through in Patrick's last show yesterday and he must be so happy for such a wonderful opportunity.

Well, I've never heard of this Stephen Buntrock before, But I just wanted to write that my dad's name is ALSO Stephen Buntrock, but with a "K" in the middle and not a "R". Plus he's an artist and not an actor. Just thought I'd share the similarities! Oh, and my dad also has the same hair-line. :)

Well, I was pleasently surprised tonight when I came across this website. 7 or 8 years ago I along with 22 of my fellow Jr. High classmates started our journey to the Chicago theatre to be in Joseph...There we met Steve, its amazing what a impact he had on all of our lives, for we still talk about the way he would get us in trouble in between shows when we were having rest time. My mother one of the chaparones for the group liked to refer to Steve as Trouble with a capital T ...though it was all in good fun. Now that I am in college I have met other kids who have worked along Steve as well and the impact he had on them is the same as us. So Thank you Steve for showing us about human compassion, having fun, the joy of theatre and being the best we can be. Also, on a personal note, Steve im still sorry I missed your head that one night and whacked you with the vulture on the ear!! :-) Much Love and Luck,
Allison

GREAT site, Faith! What an amazing tribute to an amazing performer :) I loved Stephen in Jane Eyre and was sorry I never got to see him go on as Rochester. His duet with Jayne Paterson ("Secret Soul") during a promotion for the show (Roosevelt Field Mall) was incredible. I can't wait to see him in Oklahoma! :) jenny

Dear Steve,

You may remember we just
met you after your
performance of Saigon in
Lincolnshire. Elisa, our
daughter (and a fan of yours
since Joseph) recently
wrote you about our visit to
NY. Today I was sadly
surprised that your name is
not included in the cast of
Oklahoma. Please let us
know how you are doing
and whether there is a
chance we might see you
while in NY. We will be
there on February 28 (Elisa
is auditioning at NYU in the
afternoon) and will return
home on March 3.
